Jae Sinnett is currently the jazz producer/announcer for National Public Radio-WHRV-FM/WHRO-FM, Norfolk, Virginia. Jae has performed as a jazz percussionist and composer with Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Ellis Marsalis, James Moody, Jon Hendricks, Charlie Byrd, Herb Ellis, Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Drew Jr., Fred Hersch and Chuck Mangione. While Jae is not performing or writing, he is a lecturer and clinician for Sonor Drums and Sabian Cymbals.

Following his Gavin radio Chart topper “Listen,” percussionist/composer Jae Sinnett’s fifth exciting new release “The Better Half,” is an eclectic mixture of compositions that reflect the leader’s varied writing styles and drumming versatility. Each piece offers a collage of interesting rhythmic, harmonic and melodic textures that take the listener through an aural kaleidoscope. Sinnett’s idea of combining some of his musical influences such as classic-soulful 60’s and 70’s R&B and Rock, with the sophisticated musical complexity of Jazz, has enabled him to produce his most creative, fun and challenging project to date. Featuring saxophonist sensation Chris Potter, pianist Allen Farnham and bassist Terry Burrell, Jae's music is enhanced with their versatility, extraordinary musicianship and grace.
